Version 1.0. Coming to WordPress.org.
A free WordPress plugin that stops spam comments without puzzles or “I am not a robot” boxes, and cleans out the spam already waiting.
What it does
- Stops spam bots right away. A hidden bot trap, a real-browser check, a too-fast check and a comment limit block bots before anything is saved. Real visitors won’t notice a thing.
- Checks what comments say. Comments with too many links, a link in the name, or blocked words go to your Spam folder, so you can double-check them.
- Checks known spammers, if you want. An optional StopForumSpam check looks up commenters in a free, shared list of reported spammers. It’s off until you turn it on.
- Cleans up old spam. A scanner goes through your existing pending and approved comments. Start with “Just show me” to see what it finds, then choose to move spam to Spam, to Trash, or delete it.
- Goes easy on your server. The scanner works in small background batches with a speed limit, so even a site with thousands of waiting comments stays up.
- Speaks plainly. Every setting says what it does in everyday words.
Built to be safe
A plugin that guards your comments shouldn’t open new doors into your site. Every admin action checks permissions, everything shown is escaped, every database query is prepared, and the plugin writes no files. It passes WordPress.org’s Plugin Check, and uninstalling it removes all of its data.
Free, for real
No subscription, no premium tier, no features held back. If the plugin saves you time, you can buy us a coffee.

Changelog
1.0.0
- First public release on WordPress.org.
- Includes everything from the 0.x test releases: bot blocking, content checks, the optional StopForumSpam check, and the background clean-up scanner.
0.5.0
- New: optional StopForumSpam check, off by default. Known spammers go to Spam; weaker matches add to the spam score. Only the IP address and a hashed email are sent.
- The clean-up looks up many commenters in one request, so old comments are checked faster.
