Salleh (say it “sa-LLEH”) is a Filipino-speaking AI receptionist robot. She greets visitors, chats in Filipino, English, or Taglish, and has a bit of an attitude.
What she can do
- Talk naturally. Tap to talk and ask her anything, in whatever mix of Filipino and English comes out.
- Show how she feels. Her animated face has over a dozen expressions, from proud to confused to nagtatampo, picked to match each reply.
- Notice you. Her eyes follow visitors, she says hello when someone new walks up, and she greets you as Kuya or Ate.
- Take selfies. With your permission, she snaps a photo with a countdown and gives you a QR code to download it.
- Keep it clean. Rude words get a warning, then a sulk, then a call for the guard.
What’s inside
Salleh runs on a Raspberry Pi 4 with a 7-inch touchscreen for a face, a webcam for eyes, and a speakerphone for ears and voice. Her brain is Claude, an AI model by Anthropic, and her face is drawn live in Python.
Where she’s headed
Salleh made her public debut at the RoboThinks robotics exhibit in October 2026. Next up: a 3D-printed body, a home mode for families, and a stronger version for AI events in 2027. The long-term goal is a commercial version of Salleh that any lobby or front desk can use.
